James Brown, Sr. (1757-1823)

While this photo has been represented as being James Brown, Sr. I believe it is highly unlikely. Photography only began in the early 1800's and photos weren't being widely taken until well into the middle of the 1800's. James' death in 1823 leaves little doubt that this cannot be him. I have found records implying that this is actually Alexander Brown, his grandson.
