Donald Anton Olsen 1928-1933 - Obituary



Donald A. Olsen, 76, of Mesa, Arizona passed away Monday, November 29, 2004. Donald was born July 1, 1928 in Fayette, Utah to Anton and Dora May Olsen. Donald proudly carried the title of Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He dedicated 18 years of his life to Northland Pioneer College in Holbrook, Arizona and 7 years at various educational facilities on the Navajo Reservation. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, and over the years served in many leadership positions, including, Bishop and Stake Executive Secretary. Donald had a passion for gardening, deeply loved his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carlene Olsen; daughter, Ilene Price; sons, David Olsen and Daniel Olsen, as well as, 16 grandchildren and 13-3/4 great-grandchildren. An evening visitation will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2004 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald in Mesa. Funeral Service will be held December 3, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at the Grand View First Ward, 1455 N. Harris in Mesa with a 1-hour prior viewing. Interment will follow at the City of Mesa Cemetery.
